Frequently asked questions

Can toothpaste remove small scratches on my watch?

It is NOT recommended. Toothpaste can sometimes reduce the appearance of very light scratches on acrylic crystal only. It is abrasive, inconsistent and can cause further damage to metal finishes, sapphire glass or coatings. Professional polishing by trained watchmakers is safer and gives controlled results.
Does Watch Polishing damage my watch?

When carried out correctly by a professional, watch polishing does not damage your watch. It is done carefully to remove surface scratches while preserving the shape, edges and integrity of the case. Over polishing by untrained hands can reduce metal over time, which is why expert work matters.
How long does it take to polish a watch?

Most watch polishing jobs take between one and five working days, depending on the condition of the watch and the level of restoration required. We’ll always aim to do it whenever it’s needed and technically feasible.
Can a jeweller polish a watch?

Some jewellers can polish watches, but not all specialise in watch cases. A watch specialist is recommended as they understand case geometry, brushed and polished finishes, and how to avoid damaging seals or sharp edges. They also wouldn’t have the proper equipment to achieve the correct finishes, nor would they have the machinery required to verify that the watch is properly sealed once the work is completed.
Can I just get a polish for TicTocMan?

Yes, our Swiss-trained polishers can carry out a standalone polishing service if that’s all you require.
